As it's said in my presentation for the Package by Sheils & Sawyers, the activities in this level must help children to identify words within sentences and compound words must be introduced. Precisely on compound words is my example of activity for this level.
Compound words
The way this activity works is quite simple. You use pictures to discuss compound words, which will be created by bringing two words together. I've used a software for the whiteboard, called Notebook Smartboard, but the activity can be perfectly carried out through the use of flashcards as well.
The procedure is like this: the teacher shows two pictures together and children discover it make the compound word. You can play deleting one of the words and making different combinations with the same words.
