Apart from the group of sounds in the title, in this group we also work on spelling in a harder way. We have to take into account that this is the last group; now our pupils know how to work with phonics quite effectively when reading, but in English some words have no rules, so we have to work on writing for some highly used words that children could spell incorrectly such us bird or boy. 

The particular sounds that are worked in this section -including also the ones in the title- are:

• oi/oy (boil, boy)
• ou/ow (out, owl)
• er/ir/ur (her, bird, turn)
